MEET OUR TEAM
The employees of High Country Outfitters are the people that make us "Idaho's Premier Outfitting Business". They regularly miss family birthdays, anniversaries and other activities to do what they love, hunting and making your outdoor experience the best it can be. Our guides know the backcountry and our stock. All HCO guides are accomplished hunters with the ability to make the right call on a trophy-class animal. So come along and hunt with our professional staff.

In Memory of Ray Seal
The summer of 2003 the Sawtooth Mountains and Wilderness lost one of its greatest pioneers and horseman. Ray Seal started outfitting around 1950 he ran High Country Outfitters until the fall of 1996, upon selling his business to George. Ray continued to be involved and a part of High Country Outfitters until 2002. He is greatly missed by many, Ray is gone in body, but not in soul, you will feel his presence as you look across the vast Sawtooth Range and your breath is taken away in its splendor. Happy Trails Ray!

Janet Dennis
Janet Dennis is our chief wagon driver here at HCO. She also assists in many various tasks to make the whole operation run more smoothly. She teaches Special Education during the school year, but she helps at Trapper's in the summertime.

Larry Gardner
Larry is our gourmet backcountry cook. You won't go hungry with Larry cooking and there will be no shortage of stories. Larry has been working for High Country Outfitters for a number of years. Every year he says it's his last, but he keeps coming back. We're glad, because he'll be hard to replace. Be warned though... he is an ornery old fart, but we're pretty sure you will enjoy his company, and we know you'll enjoy his cooking.

Bob Hadley
Bob is a great hunter who has a ton of experience in the Big Creek area. He has been guiding off and on in Big Creek since 1990 at one time or another for basically all the outfitters throughout the whole area, for roughly about sixteen years. He is a great asset to our new venture there.

Travis Martin
Travis is a great hunting guide with an excellent track record with us. Our hunters enjoy hunting with him and he gets a lot of requests. With a great jokester personality, we're sure you will enjoy your hunt with him as your guide.
|
Hal Martin
Hal is a great friend and an incredible asset to this company of guides, hunting with me personally and as a friend, I know of his skills 1st hand, don't be afraid to ask him about our hunting stories and adventures.

George Peter
As owner and outfitter, he is in this business for the hunting and guiding. His love of the sport, good friends and top-notch guides make it a pleasure. "I personally guarantee you will not be disappointed in any of the fine guiding staff of High Country Outfitters I will put them up against any guiding staff in the world with the combined knowledge and experience and working attitude, not everybody can make the cut to be one of our guides, so if I sound proud of my staff, I am."

Pat and Carrie Shreffler
Pat is actually "retired", but he keeps very busy with his own consulting business, raising horses with his wife Carrie on their ranch in the Sierras of California and has been helping us here at High Country Outfitters for five years now. He is an accomplished hunter and very experienced fisherman. His wit and safety conscious manner are huge assets to our team, and we are proud to offer him as a guide.
Carrie has also been part of the team, and is always a big help when she's around--and she fixes a mean Chile Verde.
