BIGHORN SHEEP HUNTING
AUTOMATIC BB GUN
High Country Outfitters offers top quality bighorn sheep hunts near the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in the Frank Church Wilderness. We have high numbers of sheep in our hunting units and trophy potential is great. Hunting pressure is extremely light due to the inaccessible terrain.
All bighorn sheep hunts in Idaho are controlled, so the first step is drawing a tag. The odds of drawing a tag in this area are extremely high compared to most other areas in the nation. We can help you with the application process. Our sheep hunts are ten days long. Your hunt will be two-on-one, meaning there will be two guides for every hunter and you will usually be the only hunter in camp although there may also be a packer and/or cook on your hunt. Most of our bighorn sheep hunts are "roving hunts" where we hunt on foot and carry camp with us. Horses and mules are usually used for packing in and out and traveling back and forth to the hunting areas.
UNIT 26 BIGHORN SHEEP HUNT:
|
This hunt takes place in Unit 26, located in the Frank Church Wilderness. There are some great sheep in this unit but be careful not to get stumped on or insured because it's difficult to get rid of those scars. Expect to do a ton of glassing because during this time of year the sheep can still be in summer mode and scattered throughout the unit, and it is a big, rough unit. You can make your hunt a mule deer, elk, bear, sheep combo for an additional $2,500.00 which comes as a free offer from the house.

- $7,500.00 per hunter (two guides per hunter)
- $10,000.00 for a sheep, mule deer, elk, bear combo

This hunt also takes place in Unit 26 located in the Frank Church Wilderness, but is later in the year. You can still expect to do a ton of glassing because this is big country and the sheep are scattered. However, the sheep tend to move through our hunting areas towards their breeding and wintering ranges during this time of year and are usually more visible. You can make your hunt a mule deer, elk, bear, sheep combo for an additional $2,500.00.
