High Country Outfitters offers a three day packing school with horses and mules. This is a hands-on school taught by professional guides and packers covering all forms of packing with decker and sawbuck packsaddles using canvas mantes, alforjas (panniers), pack boxes and top packs. Learn various hitches such as the barrel hitch, basket hitch and diamond hitch. You will also learn proper stock care, basic shoeing techniques and how to set up canvas wall tents and camps using United States Forest Service "leave no trace" techniques. The school will be located at Trappers Inn near Fairfield, Idaho, all of your meals and lodging will be included.

   - $495.00 per student
   - limit 12 students

   PACK SCHOOL DATES:
   - June 2 - June 4
   - Stay two extra days for an overnight pack trip and apply your packing skills for an additional $200.

Packing Schools are subject to 6% Idaho sales tax, 50% deposit required to book a spot in the packing school.
